Boniface Mwangi is a Kenyan activist, photojournalist, and politician born on 10 July 1983 in Taveta, Kenya, widely known for his work in human rights advocacy, social justice, and civic engagement. He holds a Diploma in Bible Studies from The Kingdom Academy, a Diploma in Print Journalism from the East African School of Journalism, and completed a program in Human Rights and Documentary Photography at New York University. He began his career as a photojournalist with The Standard Group before becoming a full-time activist focused on accountability, transparency, and good governance, and founded the Courage Movement, a civic organization encouraging citizens to demand better leadership. In 2017, he contested the Starehe parliamentary seat as an independent candidate on an anti-corruption and youth-empowerment platform. He is married to Hellen Njeri Mwangi, with three children: Nalia Sifa, Nate Simphiwe, and Jabali Mboya.
